Ambaji White
India · Marble
Location: Gujarat · Stone: Marble · Rarity: Rare Deep beneath Gujarat, mineral impurities were folded into recrystallising limestone as it became marble — the exact veining you see here is that folding, frozen in place. It is uncommon enough that most collections never think to carry it. Underhand, it is cool, dense, and quietly reassuring. Lit well, bright white, fine crystalline brightens the whole room around it, rather than simply standing out within it. Chosen most often for temples and flooring, where its character has the space to be the whole point of the room.
