Somewhere beneath South Tyrol, Italy, the earth spent millions of years doing something almost nobody sees happen: turning soft, ordinary sediment into a dense, crystalline surface that would outlast every hand that ever touched it. The surface that emerges is ultra-white crystalline, faint grey vein, pale as the first light of morning, before colour has fully arrived — a pattern no one designed and no one could replicate.
