Blue Agate (Geode)
Semi-Precious Stone
Formed in bands, one mineral-rich layer settling over the last inside a volcanic cavity, over a span of time too slow to be measured in anything but geological ages. It is rare enough that owning it is closer to inheritance than purchase. It feels composed and even underhand. Lit well, concentric blue banding with crystal centres holds a depth that shifts slightly depending on the angle you view it from. Chosen most often for backlit feature walls and tabletops, where its character has the space to be the whole point of the room.
