Quartzite

Formed when sandstone near Brazil was pushed deep enough into the earth to recrystallise entirely — sand transformed until no single grain remains separate. It is the kind of material a quarry mentions only once it is already gone. Smooth, dense, faintly cool to the touch. A bright light across pale blue with white cloud banding deepens it, the way the sea looks different depending on how the sun falls across it. Suited to backlit panels and vanities, the places where a single surface is allowed to carry an entire room.
