Cipollino Ondulato carries a kind of proof most materials can't: that it took exactly this long, in exactly this place, to become exactly this. Under Carrara, Italy, buried far past where light or time usually reach, calcite crystals were forced to reorganise themselves, fusing into a stone dense enough to hold a polish and patient enough to have waited millions of years for someone to find it. Polished, it shows undulating green-white wave banding — a green so deep it seems to hold its own shadow, a signature this exact stone will only ever wear once. What's quarried this year won't necessarily be available next year in the same grade, which is why it's chosen for bookmatch panels or columns — spaces meant to hold attention, not just fill it.
