Quartzite
Once ordinary sandstone near Brazil, transformed by heat and pressure into a rock so dense its individual grains fused into one continuous mass. It is so scarce that its arrival, not its price, is what collectors track. Smooth to the touch, grounded and substantial. A bright light drawn across clear translucent quartz crystal structure brings out subtle variation that stays invisible in ordinary daylight. Belongs on backlit islands and feature panels — the kind of application that gives a material like this room to be seen properly.
