Somewhere between geology and art, Fior di Pesco Carnico happened — in Friuli, Italy, under conditions that will not occur again in exactly this way. It began as seabed — the compressed remains of ancient marine life settling in layers beneath Friuli, Italy. Then came the heat, and the pressure, and the slow, patient rewriting of that seabed into marble. What you're left with is grey-violet with peach-blossom figuring, a colour rare enough that most people have never actually seen it in stone before, exactly as geology arranged it and not one degree different. This is genuinely limited material — not manufactured scarcity, geological scarcity — reserved for interior cladding or joinery inlay, the kind of surface that turns a space into an experience rather than a room.
