Indian Green (Kesariyaji)
India · Marble
Location: Udaipur, Rajasthan · Stone: Marble · Rarity: Rare This began as sediment on an ancient seabed near Udaipur, Rajasthan, compressed and reheated over millions of years until its structure gave way and reformed as marble. It is not rare by accident, simply not something every quarry bothers to cut this well. Smooth to the touch, faintly cool. A bright light drawn across deep green with white serpentine web reveals depth within depth, layer behind layer, the way a forest looks from just inside its edge. Chosen most often for feature walls and tabletops, where its character has the space to be the whole point of the room.
