Location: Makrana, Rajasthan · Stone: Marble · Rarity: Very Rare Somewhere beneath Makrana, Rajasthan, ordinary limestone met heat and pressure it could not resist, and did not stay limestone — it recrystallised, grain by grain, into something else entirely. It is scarce enough that it rarely appears twice on the same project. Underhand, it is cool, dense, and quietly reassuring. Lit well, dense pure white, the original Taj stone brightens the whole room around it, rather than simply standing out within it. Reserved for temples, flooring, and sculpture — the details a project is remembered for long after the rest is forgotten.
