Location: Egypt · Stone: Marble · Rarity: Rare Deep beneath Egypt, mineral impurities were folded into recrystallising limestone as it became marble — the exact veining you see here is that folding, frozen in place. It is uncommon enough that most collections never think to carry it. Smooth to the touch, with a composed, unhurried weight. A bright light drawn across grey with white linear vein brings out tones that stay hidden in ordinary daylight. At home on flooring and cladding, exactly where a room asks to be noticed rather than merely completed.
