Morwad White
India · Marble
Location: Rajsamand, Rajasthan · Stone: Marble · Rarity: Rare This began as sediment on an ancient seabed near Rajsamand, Rajasthan, compressed and reheated over millions of years until its structure gave way and reformed as marble. It is not rare by accident, simply not something every quarry bothers to cut this well. Smooth and cool, almost soft to the touch despite its density. A bright light passed over bright white with light grey drift settles into it gently, without the glare a darker stone would throw back. Suited to volume flooring, the places where a single surface is allowed to carry an entire room.
