Onice Miele
Global · Onyx
Formed as mineral-rich water moved slowly through limestone caves near Italy / Iran, depositing calcite in bands, one thin layer at a time. It is scarce enough that most who work in stone have only seen it in photographs. Cool at first touch, warming slightly the longer a hand rests on it. Under bright light, honey-gold with fine translucent band catches and holds a warm glow, the way firelight settles into old wood. Built for backlit panels — the surfaces a space is designed around, not simply finished with.
