Onyx Travertine
Global · Onyx
Deposited by mineral springs near Iran, layer by layer, as dissolved calcium carbonate settled out of moving water over centuries. It is scarce enough that most who work in stone have only seen it in photographs. Cool at first touch, warming slightly the longer a hand rests on it. Under bright light, semi-translucent gold banding catches and holds a warm glow, the way firelight settles into old wood. At home on backlit panels and cladding, exactly where a room asks to be noticed rather than merely completed.
