Granite

Quarried from ancient continental bedrock near Namibia — some of the oldest rock this planet still has on offer. It is rare enough that owning it is closer to inheritance than purchase. Cool and smooth underhand, the way water feels just before it turns to ice. Under bright light, royal blue sodalite with white lacing seems to move rather than simply reflect, like shallow water over pale sand. Built for backlit panels and feature work — the surfaces a space is designed around, not simply finished with.
