Verde Alpi
Marble
Verde Alpi isn't decoration. It's evidence — of a process most people will never witness, happening exactly once, in exactly one place. The transformation took place in total darkness, beneath Aosta, Italy, over a span of time longer than the existence of most species that have ever lived — limestone becoming marble, one degree of heat and one century at a time. The result is deep forest green with white veining: the colour of something that has been growing, uninterrupted, for a very long time, the kind of detail a camera can capture but never quite explain. Rare enough to matter, available enough to build with — this is the stone for bar tops, bathroom walls, or inlay, the detail a space is designed around rather than finished with.
