Vert d'Estours
Marble
You don't install Vert d'Estours. You inherit whatever Pyrénées, France spent millions of years building, and simply give it a place to be seen. The transformation took place in total darkness, beneath Pyrénées, France, over a span of time longer than the existence of most species that have ever lived — limestone becoming marble, one degree of heat and one century at a time. The result is emerald green with white vein network: the colour of something that has been growing, uninterrupted, for a very long time, the kind of detail a camera can capture but never quite explain. Rare enough to matter, available enough to build with — this is the stone for feature walls or bar tops, the detail a space is designed around rather than finished with.
